The answer, my friends, is actually quite easy. It's actually unrelated to stimulus bills, consumer spending, or market regulation.
No!
The new administration has really done a tremendous job of rooting out national leaders of all brands who haven't paid their taxes.
To fix the economy, then, all President Obama has to do is keep "tapping" politicians all over the country! Once they realize they are in the limelight, they will disclose some obscene amount of money they spent on luxurious dinner cruises, personal masseuses, private jets, etc.
We here at WBMC estimate that the back-taxes generated from Obama's choosing every politician in the nation to serve under him would create $1.1 trillion in wealth, thus paying for the stimulus bill and then some!
Everybody wins!

Okay, so I normally just write in when I have objections ("I agree" comments usually feel too boring to post), but this plan is simply brilliant and must be commended. "Tap" away, Mr. President! We'll be out of trouble soon!
Orwell
YES!
On a slightly different (thought not totally unrelated note) I believe that someone here on this blog commented that Obama would actually be fiscally conservative. Does anyone else remember that? I'm pretty sure it was here. Anyway, I found these articles which show that the WSJ doesn't agree, nor does Jim Cramer (a self-described "life long democrat")
So here are the links, enjoy!
WSJ: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123629969453946717.html
Cramer:

My favorite line is in the WSJ article: "The budget more than doubles the national debt held by the public, adding more to the debt than all previous presidents -- from George Washington to George W. Bush -- combined." And of course, my second favorite line: "Mr. Obama's $3.6 trillion budget blueprint, by his own admission, redefines the role of government in our economy and society." Well I suppose we did ask for change, didn't we?
But thank goodness he's reducing defense spending, I mean what gives government the right to defend us (besides the constitution of course)? Especially when there are things which are clearly spelled out in the constitution that they need to take care of, like national health care and bank bail-outs.
Sincerely,
Farmer Jones
